Overview of the Hitech Federation
Print pageThe European Federation of High Tech SMEs is an international association
registered under Belgian law.
It brings together local high tech SME clusters
or associations and carries the voice of its members at the European level.
History
The Hitech Federation was founded in 1998.
Since then, the association has been involved in the coordination of various
projects funded by the Framework Programme of the European Commission,
like ECARE+, EMTECH, and SUN&SUP.
The Hitech Federation now implements in Europe the SME Pact programme, initiated as a pilot action in 2005.
Members
Two types of members are involved in the Hitech Federation:
- Active Members (non-profit organization supporting enterprises, and by a majority SMEs)
- Associate Members (any organisation, governmental or non governmental, supporting high tech SMEs and not in the first category)
An Advisory Group composed of high-tech SMEs managers supporting the aims of the Hitech Federation is involved as a sounding board.
